Rodent Control Exterminators

Rodent control should not be overlooked and action needs to take place immediately. Rodents are unclean pests that carry death and disease. Rodents usually show themselves at night to search for food while leaving fecal droppings in the process. While they can't get into your refrigerator, they most definitely will take over the rest of the home if you let them. If you notice any sign of rodents in your home, act quickly because they are likely nesting and reproducing. There are multiple reasons why you should get help immediately.

You can try several tactics to rid the rodents from your house. You will likely be more successful if you implement a variety of pest control tactics.  Follow these rodent control tips and you will be victorious.
  • First step, get rid of any food sources the are easily accessible. Store your food in containers that they cannot get into, such as a cooler, until the problem is gone.
  • Bait traps are the most effective rodent control tactic. They are captured easily through this.
  • Commercial baits at your local store work well and often. You will have the choice among bait blocks, seeds, or pellets. It is likely they won't fall for the first bait you utilize so don't be discouraged to try different bait varieties.
  • As you work on baiting and capturing, use gloves to clean up any nesting areas you find. This should include a sanitation process, which will keep the animals from returning to the area. Remove any and all of the hiding places you can during this process.
  • Keeping a clean house will prevent rodents from nesting in your home so make sure there are no food particles on your floors. The only accessible food source you want out should be the bait placed in the rat or mouse trap.
Do-it-yourself rodent pest control can be effective, but there are times when you will need the call on the help of a professional pest control company. If the rat extermination problem is large, or you suspect it has taken over your entire home, don't wait another minute to call a pest specialist. Get back control of your home with rodent pest control--don't let them win!

Cockroach Control

Cockroaches are some of the most resilient pests out there.  Do not be discouraged if they seem to be forever around.  Take heed with the following cockroach control tips to protect your family and home.

Borate Powder

One of the most effective cockroach control methods is borate powder. This is a chemical treatment they can't run from. Consider it your secret poison to infiltrate their troops. There are several manufacturers, including Roach Prufe and Borid that work well. While this product works, it is not immediately effective. It can take three to seven days to see results. Once it does work, it continues to work for years. It is also used because it is very affordable. Using borate powder can be helpful, but you should be careful where you use it. Children and pets should not be exposed to it. To use, follow these tips for successful cockroach control:
  1. Place it lightly wherever roaches are active.
  2. The powder sticks to their bodies. The pests then lick it, poisoning them.
  3. Apply it properly, using a small, narrow, spouted squeeze bottom. (Note: Applying too much just causes the roaches to avoid it.)
This product is quite effective in the long term, but again, you need to be careful where you place it. Ensure it is located in areas where you have found the pests, including in hollow door holes, cracks, door frames, spaces in between and behind walls, and underneath appliances.

Roach Bait

Another effective cockroach control method is roach bait. Bait them and lure them to you! Roach control using baits can be effective especially when used alongside borate powder. This product works much like a lure for the pests. Since it contains food for the roach, they are attracted to it. The bait contains poison, which ends up killing the roach. More so, it can help to kill the other roaches. When the roach enters the bait, it eats some of the poison. The roach then retreats to its nest and dies. Other roaches will eat the body of the dead roach and will be poisoned as well.

Cockroach Control Warning

If you use any of the cockroach control methods listed here, or others that you find, it is critical to follow the directions on the product carefully. These products do contain poison that can be harmful to pets and children. Roach control products often contain powders that can trigger asthma attacks in some individuals. Use properly and sparingly, and remember, more product is not always the better option. Cockroach control is an ongoing process. You must always guard against invading forces. In many situations, you will need to continuously inspect your home for further infestations. It is best to thoroughly seal the home away and remove any food sources for the pests as soon as you rid your home of them.

Termite Control

Termite Control Tips

Termite infestation can put a big dent in your home and wallet. Below are some great tips on Termite Control.

Termite Baiting
One of the options you have for a do-it-yourself termite control product is to use termite bait. Bait works in two ways: One will simply lure the termite in and then poison it, killing it right away; another effective method is do-it-yourself termite control bait that is taken back to the colony by the termite. As soon as other termites eat it, they die from the poison. This is usually a great method since it functions to terminate the complete colony.
Termite Insecticides
Do-it-yourself termite control products are also available as insecticides. Termite extermination requires the colony to be sprayed in addition to the actual pests. It is important that you use an insecticide that specifies its abillity to kill on contact. It is imperative you find the termite source, otherwise these products will be rendered ineffective.
Repellent Barriers
You will also find a variety of do-it-yourself termite control barrier products. These products are sprayed or dropped around the edging of the home, creating a barrier to keep the termites from getting into your home. The biggest drawback of this type of termite control product is that even a very small gap is all that is needed for the pests to make their way through. The effectiveness of these products depends on the comprehensive application on the vulnerable entry points in your home.
Undetectable
Termite control products like Dominion 2L, for example, are non-repellants; the termites cannot see it, taste it or smell it. This allows the termite to get it onto their bodies and they take it back to their colony. Consequently, the termite nest will be wiped out swiftly. Home-based termite control methods are not always as thorough as professional exterminator services. If you locate a product that you wish to use, use it according to the directions provided. The termites will always be present unless the complete colony is destroyed. The only good termite is a dead termite!
